On February 1st 2018, Microsoft confirmed some more information about Microsoft Office 2019 that will be released later on in the year.

Below is some of the key information on the latest release:

  • Office 2019 will only run on Windows 10 operating systems, not Windows 7, 8 or 8.1.
  • There will only be 7 years of support for Microsoft Office 2019. 5 Years of mainstream support and 2 additional years of extended support, ending on October 14th 2025. Support for Office suites in the past has generally been 10 years.
  • Release date set to be in the second half of 2018.

If you are running on Office 365 already then great news, you will get the upgrade included with your current subscription at no extra cost! If, however, you have outright purchased Microsoft Office then you won’t be entitled to the free upgrade.
